Class Descriptions
Art Classes are available for ages 3 through adults.  These 6 week session classes will help young artists explore their artistic creativity.  Taught by art teacher Melanie Hammontree, this class will use different mediums to develop, express, and improve their artistic talents.
Dance Classes
In Pre-Dance, dancers explore movement, space, rhythms, and personal creativity.  3 year olds develop motor skills by creatively moving through simple dance steps. 4 and 5 year olds further their discovery of movement by spending half a year learning ballet steps and half a year learning tap steps.
Ballet for 1st-3rd graders involves an introduction to basic ballet concepts including barre, center work, and stretching.  Dancers also progress through exercises to improve flexibility and ballet technique.  Instructors stress proper placement and execution as the students grow as dancers.
Ballet with pointe is available for 4th and 5th graders.  This class is for the more experienced dancer.  Ballet technique continues and progresses through a more challenging curriculum.  Placement is by the instructor only.
More intensive ballet training with pointe is offered through Honors Ballet.  Students in the 6th grade or older may participate.  Placement is by the instructor only.
Jazz/Tap combination classes are offered for 1st graders and older.  Students spend 30 minutes with jazz technique and 30 minutes with tap.  The classes are fast-paced, upbeat, and lots of fun.  Difficulty progresses with age.
Hip Hop classes are offered for 2nd grade and older students. The one hour classes are face paced, aerobic and fun. Learn the latest moves and technique.
Gym Classes
Mommy and Me classes give participants an early introduction to movement and creativity.  Done in small groups and an extremely supportive environment, Mommy and Me is a great way for children aged 18 months to 2 years, with an adult, to begin to develop motor skills.
In Pre-Gym, students aged 3, 4, and 5 focus on developing flexibility, strength, and basic tumbling skills.  Students should come prepared to have fun and learn something new.
Recreational Gymnastic classes are available for 1st-4th graders.  Students continue to work on flexibility, strength, and basic tumbling skills.
